I’m Devin Donovan, the proud owner of Performance Inspections.

I look forward to sharing my story. I hope that you will enjoy getting to know me better.

I entered the home inspection profession after realizing the value of cumulative experiences I had developed over many years of building new construction and renovation projects. The experience I gained as a former licensed master electrician in residential, commercial and industrial situations has provided me with a great opportunity to help others understand how safe and proper electrical systems operate. Preparing a client for a home inspection so they get the most from the process and checking their understanding of what the conditions of their new home really is beyond the obvious.

With over thirty-five years of experience in the home building and renovation/restoration trade, I can help people with my tremendous knowledge. This is the most enjoyable part of my job – helping clients understand the many facts about their home’s current condition, the best maintenance practices around the home and possible renovations in and around their home.

As the founding face of the business, I provide clients with clear and accurate information in a professional manner. Time is also important to clients during a real estate transaction, and as a professional home inspector, I understand timely communication, respect their time and balance accuracy in information.

One of the most satisfying moments in my career was when I saved a buying client thousands of dollars off the contract price by detecting problems within the home’s electrical and plumbing systems before their settlement. Credit for work that needed to be completed was a serious saving for my client.

In the three years that I’ve been in the home inspection profession, I’ve noticed that the business of home inspection today requires constant and continuous education training for code changes in new construction, client and realtor relations management and following the surges in the real estate market.

While I’ve recently launched my business, I believe what has helped foster my business’ success over the past few years has been my quick response, accurate factual information, and thorough inspection.

When I’m not assisting clients, I spend time camping and engaging in outdoor activities. I also restore old properties and plan on building a tiny home before retiring to go fishing with my grandchildren.

I believe education is so important; as a teacher in my work, I teach classes on workplace safety, ladder safety, fall protection, and in daily life, I help others unlock their understanding of their own strengths. Leaving a legacy of knowledge is fine but to help condition a person to use their mind to think is paramount.

I have enjoyed sharing my story about the things which matter to me and how they influence the way I do business.
